Public service center with Oriental-inspired design

Through the contrast and mix & match of modern materials, the grand image of the entrance is composed. The metal-Ruyi in the exterior shines under the sunlight during the day and takes on a different expression at night. Inside, the Ruyi-motif is suspended on the ceiling and inserted onto the black mirrors in the hallway. Two Chinese calligraphies, representing male and female, adorn the restroom, adding another symbol of the Oriental. The reception desk features diamond-like craftsmanship to match the Ruyi motif on the ceiling, while the extravagant gold leaf metamorphoses into spectacles of light and shadows. Glass, metal, and greenery act as the medium to congeal opulence into elegance.

The design team utilized various techniques and materials to bring this design to life. Wooden laser-cut panels, "Ruyi"-shaped dropped ceilings, black mirrors glass with frosted patterns, golden paint, natural marble, wood veneer, imported patterned leather, and flame-resistant carpet were all used to create the desired effect.

The project serves as a place where visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the new housing development. With its visually three-dimensional space design, people are inspired to yearn for a better style of living with aesthetics and functionality. The location of the project in New Taipei City, Taiwan, made it a bustling area, presenting challenges for the design team. However, they successfully created a sense of passion amid serenity by using an outer wall to segment the interior from the exterior and incorporating black latticework that casts reflections off the black mirror.

The "Elegance in Hold" project received the Silver A' Design Award in 2016. This prestigious award recognizes designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The design's strong technical characteristics and splendid artistic skill showcase a remarkable level of excellence and introduce positive feelings, amazement, and wonder.
